At Ruby’s, a series of 16 exquisite cocktails (14 cocktails and 2 mocktails) invites you to journey through Ms. Jigger's 'Ruby' moment that turned her into the woman we have grown to love and revere.
Have you ever wondered why someone is the way they are? What shaped them, and what kind of heartbreak they endured to become who they are today?
Since its opening at Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, Ms. Jigger has captivated hearts with her story. But before Ms. Jigger was 'that woman', she had to pass through her own infernos - her 'Ruby' moment is a tale of love, loss, and transformation that has remained untold until now.
Ms. Jigger believed who believed in the love she had—until she discovered that what she thought was real, was but a façade. Left with nothing but a note and a Ruby gemstone, traditionally cut, her heart was shattered with the Ruby always there to remind her of what not to become again.
At Ruby’s, a series of 16 exquisite cocktails (14 cocktails and 2 mocktails) invites you to journey through her story. Each drink is inspired by the Silom Gemstone district, where she met the love of her life—or so she thought.
The cocktails are named after gemstones, each capturing a chapter of Ruby’s life. The Ruby cocktail, with its gin base, delicate jasmine notes, and vibrant ingredients like strawberry, pomegranate, and hibiscus, mirrors the scarlet hue of its namesake. The Diamond cocktail dazzles with Tequila Blanco, creamy Hokkaido yogurt liqueur, organic yogurt, and pear. Emerald bursts with bold flavors, combining gin, artisanal mezcal, melon, mango sticky rice, and durian coconut foam. The Blue Sapphire blends vodka, elderflower, pear, butterfly pea, and pear sake with a touch of blue spirulina. Onyx captivates with a mix of vodka, Oloroso Sherry, Maraschino, tomato, and a hint of black salt.
Ruby’s is more than just a cocktail bar; it’s an elevated experience with curated food pairings by Chef Davide Calo. Each dish, from tempura Fine de Claire oysters to fresh red prawn tartare, seared foie gras with wild mushroom and ricotta, and grilled Wagyu beef on fluffy brioche topped with truffle, is crafted to complement the drinks and the emotions they evoke.
Is Ruby’s a place for the sad and heartbroken? No, it’s a place for everyone. Because there’s a little bit of Ruby in all of us—or perhaps she used to be mine.
