SO/ Bangkok Welcomes Adrien Marie as New General Manager — and a New Rooftop Concept That Aims to Enchant
SO/ Bangkok has officially welcomed Adrien Marie as its new General Manager — and he’s not wasting any time. Known for his bold leadership style and people-first approach, Adrien steps into the role with more than 12 years of international luxury hospitality experience. And from day one, he’s diving headfirst into one of the hotel’s most ambitious transformations: the complete reinvention of its 29th-floor rooftop venue.
Having led standout properties in Indonesia, Vietnam, China, and France — including the post-pandemic revival of Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali, which hosted the G20 Summit and the Global Tourism Forum — Adrien brings a fresh perspective with a solid dose of creative energy. He’s also no stranger to the Accor family, having previously held key roles at Amarterra Villas Bali Nusa Dua – MGallery Collection and Hotel de l’Opera Hanoi.
Educated at INSEEC Business School Paris and a graduate of Accor’s International Hospitality Management Programme (IHMP), Adrien brings together French finesse and an Asian sensibility that feels right at home in Bangkok.
“Having spent most of my career across Asia, this region has truly become home to me both personally and professionally,” he shared. “I’m thrilled to join the inspiring team at SO/ Bangkok and to contribute to a property that dares to stand out with style, soul, and substance.”
His first major project? Breathing new life into the rooftop — not just as a bar, but as a destination.
“Our goal is to create a rooftop that feels both refreshing and refined — a place guests return to not just for the view, but for the unique vibe and atmosphere,” he explained. “We aim to build a loyal local crowd while also attracting international visitors seeking something distinctive in Bangkok.”
In a city that’s no stranger to stellar views and sky-high concepts, Adrien isn’t trying to outdo the competition with flashy gimmicks. His approach is simpler — and more soulful.
“We’re in one of the best cities in the world when it comes to food and drink, but I truly believe that success doesn’t always come from doing the most — it comes from doing the right things, simply, and with quality. It’s about creating the right energy,” he added.
“It’s not about having the most innovative design, the loudest atmosphere, or the fanciest décor. What matters most is how you make people feel — the memory they leave with.”
With that in mind, the new rooftop concept will blend the warmth of Thai hospitality with a curated creative direction, designed to enchant locals and global guests alike — not overwhelm them.
“Our goal isn’t to be pretentious, but to build a strong, thoughtful concept that invites people to travel with us — wherever we want to take them,” Adrien said. “And in the end, it’s always about the people behind the project.”
With Adrien Marie now at the helm, SO/ Bangkok is entering an exciting new era — and it’s looking way up.
