Andamanda Phuket stokes Excitement in Thailand's Tourism Industry

With the reveal of Andamanda Phuket, the tourism within Thailand is destined to gain a well needed boost. The soft opening is slated for the 21st of May, 2022. The new USD$135 million project by Proud Group is located in the island's Kathu district.

With tourism cranking up again in Phuket, Proud Group has invested 4.5 billion THB (Approximately 135 million USD) into Andamnda, and have a high degree of confidence that it will do well within this new post Covid-19 era of tourism.

As leaders of high end real-estate, leisure attractions, retail and hospitality, Proud Group has created an imaginative themed world featuring traditional Thai mythology with a fun and adventurous twist. People will now get to experience the largest leisure and entertainment destination in phuket. The waterpark features five themed zones, Coral World, The Pearl Palace, Emerald Forest, Great Andaman Bay and Naga Jungle. Covering 58 rai (9.3 hectares) of land, there is plenty to do with your day, or stay at Andmanda Phuket.

Future plans include opening retail outlets and a 300-key internationally-branded hotel, but that will begin during phase 2. For what the attraction is currently featuring, it will consist of 12 thrilling slides, as well as 36 different activities. Just to name a few of the attractions that will be available; AquaDrop, Bubba Tub, if you’re looking to experience some waves FlowRider is a Double surf simulator that emulates the thrill and feeling of beach waves. Andamanda will also feature a 550m long lazy river which will be the longest in Asia. With the focus being on Thai mythology, the guests will be able to immerse in the legend of “The Lost Kingdom of the Nagon”, an inspirational folk tale of struggle, friendship and ultimate triumph set amid the landscapes and seascapes of the Andaman coast. There will be classical nang talung southern Thai puppet theatre performances, a floating market featuring traditionally-designed ruer koh lae boats to promote local community crafts, authentic food and beverage outlets and a stage for regular cultural performances.

From cosy cabanas, private VIP pavilions, and a tropical beachfront restaurant, guests will get chill and relax with a series of stunning swim-up bars – including one nestled in a near life-size replica of Koh Tapu, Thailand’s famous “James Bond Island” – will also allow visitors to chill out in style.


All rides have been designed by WhiteWater West, the world’s leading water park equipment supplier. Having worked with other well known and global theme parks such as Disney and Atlantis Dubai, Andamanda is assured to have the best of the best when it comes to the quality of the facilities. Contour, the award-winning architectural firm, and Coopers Hill, the landscape experts also collaborated on the project, which is globally certified by Ellis & Associates, the Florida-based aquatic safety experts. As Andamnda values sustainability, the eco-friendly water park will adopt a circular approach to water management, with a continuous loop of water being reused and recycled. Single-use plastic will be banned, over 100,000 trees have been planted and solar power used extensively to ensure that energy levels are minimised. Staffed by a team of fully-trained local professionals, including 200 qualified lifeguards, the park will drive employment and empower communities in Phuket.

With the new coming age of technology, Andamanda will have highly advanced technology that will allow guests to use a location-based AI app.
