The world famous Hollywood Roosevelt hotel in Los Angeles is coming to Macau with the opening of the new Roosevelt Macau next year, close to the enclave’s Cotai Strip entertainment hub.

In the flamboyant style of its Hollywood namesake, the Roosevelt Macau is being developed as a “jetset retreat” designed with “a modern take on Hollywood glam with a 1950s retro twist”.

Headlining the concept is a glamorous private VIP club with its own wine bar, exclusive wine cellar and cigar lounge, and a private open-air swimming pool with a bar and cabanas which is set to become renowned for LA /Miami-style pool parties with DJs and live music.

At its topping-out ceremony in Macau in February 2015, GCP Hospitality CEO Christophe Vielle said: “with the thousands new room inventory opening in Macau in the next years, the shift in the tourist profile visiting Macau – more entertainment, sports and family driven – we believe the developer of the project has thought out of the box and made the right decision in choosing a lifestyle hotel concept for Macau. The Roosevelt Hotel will bring elegant and glamorous experiences perfectly complementing Asia’s dynamic entertainment capital.

The legendary Spanish colonial-style on Hollywood Boulevard, which hosted the 1st Academy Awards in 1929 and was famed as Marylyn Monroe’s home, is a prominent landmark in movies and Hollywood nightlife – with a surge in popularity of its trendy nightclub Teddy’s.

Paying tribute to its heritage at The Roosevelt Macau, Los Angeles-based designer Gulla Jonsdottir of GPlus design  said: “I draw my inspiration from art and nature, so for the Roosevelt Macau I wanted to create this sense of eternal glamour of the iconic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and layer this with the nature of Macau, embodied as a sensual flower.
