Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. is on course to dramatically expand its Four Points by Sheraton international hotel brand inChina.
The latest opening of Four Points by Sheraton Lingui Guilin in the famous tourist destination extends the brand footprint to 23 hotels by the end of 2014. Four more Four Points are opening in 2015 – in the southern manufactuiring powerhouse of Guangdong, Chengdu in south-west China and Baohe in Hefei, along with Penghuin Taiwan.
Rapid growth of the brand in China now targets nearly 50 Four Points hotels by 2018 – doubling the portfolio over the next four years. “Four Points is one of Starwood’s key growth leaders in China,” said Qian Jin, President, Greater China, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.“The primary focus for expansion is in China’s secondary and tertiary cities where demand for well-known global brands is on the rise.”
Rapid expansion of the brand is on the 10th anniversary of its debut in China – with Four Points by Sheraton Shenzhen, across the border from Hong Kong. China leads a global drive for growth of Four Points, expanding the portfolio to 200 hotels in 2015.
Four Points has proved “a hit with business and leisure travelers worldwide” for its  ‘Experience Smart Travel’concept of stylish comfort, great service and popular perks, noted Mr Qian Jin, President of Greater China, Starwood Hotels & Resorts “It continues a long runway of growth, leveraging first mover advantage in China’s secondary and tertiary cities.”
Opening on 31st December this year, Four Points by Sheraton Lingui Guilin is in partnership with China’s Fantasia Holdings Group.
