Chef Ralf Haupts 2

New Kuta Resort Hotel is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Ralf Haupts as Executive Chef from this point on to oversee its Food and Beverage Operations, including two restaurants, bar, pizzeria and banquet facilities that caters up to 350 persons. German by birth, Chef Ralph has in-depth understanding of food and beverage operations alongside exceptional culinary expertise. Welcomed warmly at the New Kuta Hotel, Chef Ralph brings nearly 30 years of experience in executive chef positions in luxury hotels and restaurants.

Formally trained during a three-year apprenticeship at the West-LB, and later in Dusseldorf, Germany, it was not long before Chef Ralf rose to take up Executive Chef positions at numerous fine-dining establishments across the globe. Beginning his career he acted as Chef de Partie across various restaurants in Germany and Switzerland before launching his international career at the Hilton on the South Pacific island of Guam. It was there where he began perfecting the culinary arts of Japanese, Chinese, Euro-Asian, as well as European continental cuisine. As someone driven to excel in the art and a self-described perfectionist, it was early in his career that he stepped up to the management role of Executive Sous Chefat Hilton Residence Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. From this experience, Chef Ralph gathered timeless insight into the Mediterranean flavors of Moroccaon, Egyptian, Lebanese, Greek, Italian, and Spanish dishes.

After this phase of his career he went on to hold numerous Executive and Head Chef positions at various places across Ethiopia, Thailand, and Laos before settling down at Bali’s renowned Hard Rock Hotel and Café. At all of these locations, Chef Ralph played an important role in rebranding the restaurants by implementing new concepts, recipes, menus and his own signature dishes. As General Manager Hans VanSteertegem stated, “Ralf is the perfect addition to our team to build our Food and Beverage Operation and bring it to new heights. At New Kuta Hotel Chef Ralph will assume responsibility for the entire Food and Beverage Operation, including the Kayu Manis Restaurant, Sunset Pool Bar&Restaurant, Sunset Pizzeria, The Pecatu Ballroom, outdoor theme nights  and the In-room Dining Service..
