WXYZ Bar at Aloft Hotel Bangkok
Aloft is known as a fun, vibrant, and chic hotel brand. It has evolved around art, live music, and great drinks. [Aloft Bangkok – Sukhumvit 11](http://www.aloftbangkoksukhumvit11.com/?&PS=LGEN_AA_DAPI_CGGL_TPRP&SWAQ=8CPE) recently launched its new W XYZ bar concept. Winfried Sanders, Beverage & Food Manager, took note of the demand for the hotel’s popular craft beer and took that concept to create a less masculine drink – and this was the birth of the first craft cocktail in Thailand.

We noticed that our guests enjoy our home brew craft beer and we get repeat guests who come back on the strength of it, so we took that idea to cocktails and made our own vanilla vodka, and our own cherry syrup. Everything is organic and fresh,” said Winfried.

Right now, guests are currently enjoying ‘The Passion’ – a vanilla scented gin mixed with fresh passionfruit juice and add lemon juice for the zing, and ‘Fiery Mangtini’ – fresh mango, vanilla infused vodka, lime juice and chili syrup. We also have ‘Spicy Kaffir Lime Bubbles’ – vodka mixed with chili syrup, fresh lime juice, sodawater and fresh kaffir lime leaves.”

Great crafted cocktail experience with interaction by craftsmen to express their inspiration and creation. Ongoing, fresh and renewing, with creative and innovative recipes.” added Winfried.

Aloft Bangkok – Sukhumvit 11 General Manager, Justin Malcolm, is a true supporter of local artists and musicians.

To me it’s the perfect combination all together. Firstly, our Craft Cocktail selection is designed from our in-house Craftsmen, whose passion is for their local and unique Thainess. Care, attention and creativity to get the perfectly matched ingredients is what we do at W XYZ bar,” he explained.

Music is in our DNA at Aloft and W XYZ bar. W XYZ music is about live performances focusing on acoustic performances from local artists who we’ve found through the ‘Project Aloft Star Amplified by MTV’ competition to find emerging and undiscovered artists. This year Aloft Bangkok saw a 680% increase in nominations and the talent was out of this world. Finalists across South East Asia were flown to Kuala Lumpur where they competed against each other for the grand prize of US$10,000.”

The new modern and relaxed lounge atmosphere and selected art pieces from local artists certainly show true support for untapped Thai talent. “With collaboration involving Artloft Asia in selecting artwork, we are focusing on Asia being historically rich and culturally nuanced, and we hope that each of our art pieces can enrich guests’ experience of discovering and collecting art.”
